The Luebeck CID investigative team, led by Finn Kiesewetter and Lars Englen, are currently researching the death of 19-year-old Marco, who, according to eye-witnesses was stabbed by his former teacher, Olaf Kramer, not far from his old school. Kramer was already suspended for tangling with Marco. He accused the youngster of dealing with drugs. The suspect is on the run and wants to give his son Tim a long since promised bicycle before he hands himself in to the police. When he secretly visits Tim, a row flares up between him and Rudi Berthold, his ex-wife Astrid's new partner. Shortly afterwards the fugitive is found unconscious - next to him is Berthold, who has been shot. But Olaf Kramer cannot remember a single thing. He is arrested, yet Finn Kiesewetter is in increasingly grave doubt as to his guilt. Astrid Kramer is also uncertain. What has her father, Wolfram Pesch, a former gastronome in the red light district, whose alleged involvement in dubious drug deals was something Olaf Kramer has always wanted to prove, to do with it all? When the former teacher manages to flee, things come thick and fast.
