When Ruprecht Welser forgets his wife Johanna at a taxi rank following a joint holiday and instead of an apology, only has his own interests in mind, the well-to-do architect's wife decides to make a stand: Despite the fact that Christmas is just around the corner, without further ado, she moves into Ellie's apartment, a young taxi driver she only recently met. While Ruprecht is busy blocking his wife's credit cards, she is beginning to come into her own whilst staying at her new unconventional friend's home. When it comes down to preventing Ellie's apartment block from being illegally demolished, Johanna rediscovers some of her long-forgotten legal talents. But the two women have two strong opponents to deal with: an influential property speculator and his willing architect - Ruprecht.
