Apart from a loose affair with Gerd, a travelling animal fodder representative, Brandenburg farming girl Jutta's life consists purely of hard work - and her cow, Gloria. Gloria is a fabulous cow, the most beautiful in the whole of Brandenburg State. It is Jutta's plan for her to become Miss Germany. For Jutta, Gloria is the be all and end all of her little world. Her brother Thomas, who has unexpectedly come to visit after the death of their father, finds her devotion to this cow highly irritating. Admittedly, Gloria is rather special, but nevertheless a cow! He is not allowed to say anything like this when Jutta is around. And if he somehow touches on the subject of inheritance claims, the air is set alight. Then, the siblings find themselves in the midst of a massive row, almost as brilliant as back in the old days. But both of them sense that a new seriousness has emerged from behind their dispute. Can Jutta carry on with her life as if it were business as usual and run the farm alone? And just what is behind Thomas' sudden appearance? For both of them it's time to face the truth.
