Shanghai has the world's biggest harbour and the longest underground train network. The booming economy appears to offer infinite possibilities. The skyline is growing into hitherto unknown heights. The Shanghai Tower, with its 600 metres, is the second tallest building in the world. Almost everything is bigger and faster than anywhere else in the Chinese mega city. The 23 million inhabitants have to keep pace. ARD correspondent Mario Schmidt accom-panied people going about their everyday live here in Shanghai.
