Confused, the youngster tells them that his grandfather lay dead elsewhere in the forest and that he had been attacked by a dog and protected by an Indian. Hurriedly, Borowski searches the forest but finds nothing. Instead, he notices a sailing boat, anchored in the bay. When the detectives bring Simon back to his parents, Johann and Nadja Flemming, confirmation is received in regard to grandfather Heinrich's disappearance. The very next day, Heinrich's corpse is found - buried next to decaying carcass of a dog. The boat has disappeared without a trace. But who killed Heinrich? Borowski is certain: Simon must have seen the perpetrator….
