After she failed her last assignment, detective Charlotte Lindholm is being transferred to Göttingen for disciplinary reasons. That is not just a strain on her private life - her whole family stays in Hannover, after all - but also on her career. There are further frictions with her new colleague as Charlotte keeps butting heads with the tough detective Anaïs Schmitz. Both women need to put their differences aside though when an especially mysterious case lands on their desk. There are noticeable signs of a woman giving birth, possibly all alone, in the run-down locker room of a school sports field. But neither mother nor child are anywhere to be found. Are the two detectives investigating a crime?
