After the murder of Juergen Sternow, the chief of the Cyber Crime Special Unit of the Federal Intelligence Agency in Kiel, police inspectors Klaus Borowski and Sarah Brandt are surprised to find that they are to lead investigations. Why? Because of who the victim is, obviously and that the killer was recruited on the internet, suspicions are raised that the perpetrator is most likely to be found in rapidly-growing internet crime, which is why special investigators more familiar with this subject area would be more suitable. The case poses Borowski with challenges, as first of all, he has to acquire the necessary technical expertise and despairs when faced with the question, how one is supposed to track down a perpetrator who uses all the tricks in the book to remain hidden in the dark web. But one-time hacker, Sarah Brandt, is in her element and she finds a way to get to the killer….
