Nina Schramm, the group chairwoman of the "New Patriots" is increasingly becoming the target of hate mails and murder threats. Inspector Falke and his female colleague, Julia Grosz, have been assigned to her personal security. Much to the chagrin of Julia, both Falke and the right-wing politician make no secret of their mutual dislike for one another. When Schramm's car is destroyed by an explosion in which her husband Richard is killed, right-wing networks speak of a "left-wing mob" and accuse the police of standing by and doing nothing. But the investigators uncover inconsistences in the right-wings media-effective campaign, even more so when it becomes obvious that State Security is involved.
