He once used to travel from one end of Asia to the next, through almost unpassable jungles, on Asia's mightiest rivers, in exuberant mega cities: Always in close contact with the people in the country: Robert Het-kaemper looks back on 20 years of the series "The faces of Asia". Dur-ing the many years in which he was a correspondent for the ARD in Asia, Germany's chief television centre, there is very little he hasn't seen. Whether a snake in Vietnam, bullfrogs in Singapore, locusts in Bangkok, rats in Cambodia - a revulsion factor didn't exist as far as Robert Hetkaempfer was concerned. Just curiosity in regard to cultures, eating habits and traditions.
