On his first assignment since joining the Hamburg LKA, the State Crim-inal Investigation Department, the idiosyncratic Nick Tschiller is asked to investigate an apartment. In doing so, he and his colleague, Yalcin Gümer, seem to have stirred up a hornet's nest. The apartment turns out to be a hideaway for underage prostitutes, whose pimps suddenly appear at the door. A brutal gunfight ensues, resulting in the death of three pimps, all members of the dreaded Astan Clan, who practically control the underworld of Hamburg's red light district. New man Tschil-ler immediately comes under the scrutiny of his own colleagues and faces an internal investigation, as well as having to justify his actions to Hannah Lennerts, the district attorney. Did Nick really kill the pimps in self-defence? Nick takes on the Astan Clan single-handedly, with only his injured partner Yalcin as support.
