Resolute Agnes Wallem is on the brink of a career breakthrough as an architect. She has been contracted to redesign the parish hall of one of Norway's most beautiful stave churches in a small town near to the deep Sognefjord. Agnes is aware that this is a huge chance professionally. Shortly after her arrival, she unexpectedly bumps into her teenage heartthrob, Kristian Storstein, who lives in the idyllic village with his wife Louisa and their 7-year-old daughter. Although both of them are spoken for, Kristian and Agnes are caught up by their own past, as long-forgotten emotions rekindle. When Agnes' boyfriend, Jonas Tjerland, arrives from Oslo, the emotional chaos is complete. To make matters worse, Agnes discovers that Kristian's wife Louisa is responsible for making sure that Agnes received the contract for the parish hall. Is it possible that Louisa wanted her and Kristian to find each other again? And if so, why? Agnes feelings become entangled in the wake of the tides...
