In his late 60s, Peter has led a withdrawn and lonely life for a long time. One evening in an empty restaurant he goes with the young waitress into the deserted late-night kitchen - and sleeps with her. It takes a moment before Peter realises that this was the beginning of true love. Her name is Isabel, a 30 year-old, self-confident student. Yet Isabel marries a week later. In a sudden flash of awareness she leaves her wedding party and runs to Peter's flat in her wedding dress.
The bitter sweet romance between Peter and Isabel suffers a serious blow when Peter eventually meets her parents.
